History and policy

I set up in business in 1996 after twelve years working with the Overwater Guitar Company.

I specialise in all aspects of servicing, repairing, restoring and finishing electric and acoustic instruments. I also build custom basses to order.

I finish for individual builders who don't have the huge and expensive factory finishing facilities but want a high quality finish for their instruments - builders bring me instruments to lacquer from all over Britain.

In particular, I've worked closely with acoustic builder Stefan Sobell to achieve the best possible finish and also keep up with the constantly moving goalposts of changing lacquer specification.

My policy is always to do the best possible job without compromise on every instrument I work on.
